Title: 1969 package tray

Can anyone let me know what the proper sheen is on a 1969 package tray. found an original but needs to be repainted, thanks.

Always found them to be flat black as a final look which makes sense since the the coating/paint would have soaked into the wood fibers. Too much paint would fill the grain and produce glosser areas a flat surface would reduce the reflections and glare something they would not have wanted on these panels or the smaller ones installed on coupes
