Title: radiator support
Post by: BlackMcode1970mach1 on November 29, 2019, 08:03:20 PM
My 70 mach 1 had its radiator support replaced sometime in its life due to a accident . It looks like they put a 69 support in it as it as there are no holes for the hood  locks. Now my question is can I just leave the support in it and  make the holes for the hood locks ? I mocked everything up and it looks like everything fits  good. . I have a support out of a donor car but im trying to  save some time and some money . Mark

To me they look to have a differently shaped edge and the 70 may be wider at the "thickest" point. You might be able to add some metal to the 69 then reshape, work both sides and then add the cut outs.

Not sure if other sections of the supports have different openings, holes and such. At least some of them are though that could be addressed also if you could identify them all.  Also you would want to check to see how they attached the replacement support and if that will need to be redone anyway to replicate the factory looking methods of attachment
