Title: Negative Battery Cable Jan 68 Dearborn
Post by: No Paint on December 24, 2019, 07:31:56 PM
My 1/25/68 Dearborn coupe appears to have a replacement / incorrect negative battery cable installed. It has the additional midstream body grounding tab (about 12" from the clamp end) that goes under one solenoid mounting tab / screw. Part number on the cable is E1DF-14301 - BA or DA Motorcraft. Should the car have a no flag cable? What is this one for? Thanks.

E1 would indicate 1981 part design. Your original cable would be an Autolite part with no grounding wire. Pretty decent reproductions are out there at any of the repro part dealers. Originals are out there too. Not cheap!
