Question  , The hood safety latch is chipping away at new paint on the hood latch hole , is there something I should be adding to this edge to stop this happening ?

Possibly re-adjust to keep latch engaging inside hood hole area but still deep enough to provide protection from popping open? May post pics to see if the really knowledgeable members can give their opinion, my 1970 does not have any "extra" component to protect. I'm sure you will be asked the cars build data, dates plant.
