Title: 66 Hertz Motor Mount Style
Post by: ChrisV289 on January 30, 2020, 10:52:34 PM
Trying to determine what motor mount style #1502 should have.  Should it be the 65-66 hi po style or the later style? Sheet metal dates vary from November to possibly January of 66.  Jeff, I believe i've sent you the VIN once before.  The date code on the steering gear box is 6B28B.  Shipped to Hertz in March.  I believe it has the 65/66 style now but want to be sure that is correct before replacements are ordered to try and solve a vibration plaguing the car.

The shelby in this thread has the later style I believe:

You use the "new" style. The change over date is 11/1/65 (my "K" uses the 64-65 style). A friend stored his GT350 in my back yard and its Shelby VIN is around 300 less that yours. Its Ford build date was in February, 66.

Agree that the car in question would have used the later version.

The change over has documented so far in the 66 Running Change Thread possibly taking place in the 130xxx to 140000 range at San Jose. Using dates is difficult since we don't know when the cars were really built and the change over likely didn't take place at all plants on the same day since this was not safety related and likely used up what ever small amount of stock was on hand also the dates on Hipo and non-hipo likely didn't all take place at the same moment
