Title: Snorkles - and I don't mean swimming-
Post by: bryancobb on December 18, 2010, 01:17:20 PM
Can anyone shed some light on which one of these is correct for a 1966 Windsor-Built Revision 11, C-Code 289?

Don't pay any attention to the color.  The right one has been painted the correct color.  The left one is just like I received it.

What are the date codes on them?

THX Charles,  light one = 4F   dark one = 6B

The Mannel book implies that 66 ones have a slot like the light one.  Guess it may not be always so.

Not a detail I've paid much attention to, but in this case, the date codes answer the question!

Almost got involved with doing a couple of pretty old fire engine restorations and even considered purchasing one years ago. Then I woke up and realized the extra challenges ;)

Thanks for sharing - wonder if there are restoration detail forums (not really ;) for him to get specific on, like we have here
