NOTE: The following initial post was split from another discussion so proper attention and focus could be given to the question related to the original ID markings on the front oil springs.
You ask for help and provide when your car was built, body type, options and rest of details and we see if we have that from other cars equipped the same or a buildsheet with the information just like others have done ;)
Thanks Jeff I am asking. 1968 Mustang GT Fastback 390 4 speed, deluxe interior, 8 track, tilt-a-way, power steering, 3:25 rear gear.

So (just checking) no AC no power steering?
From your signature - For 8R02S162374, San Jose, June 5, 1968
Will see what I've got

Hi Jeff. My car has no AC, but has power steering

Sorry missed the PS in the first post :(
In any case from examples a few months earlier in production (best I have right now) for a 68 S code, 4 speed, GT, fastback PS, No AC
One Yellow and one Gold stripe
Don't know if its been mentioned yet but likely the front and read shocks would have all had Brown daubs at the bottom (as mounted) bell

Great thanks Jeff. I will apply the paint marks once I get the right finish on the coil springs. Should I start an new thread as I am looking to also confirm paint marking on my Drive shaft and Leaf springs. Or should I post in one of the other original posts specific to those parts. Actually I think that you replied to a previous post that the drive shaft stripes should be Blue, Dark Blue & Pink

Changed the title of the thread so that we can keep all the related (to plant, car and details) together
Rear springs are shown on buildsheets and they match what we've found on cars
Buildsheets show ORanGe/White and on unrestored cars we've found those colors on C7ZA 5556 AS stamped springs.

Yes drive shaft stripes should be Blue, Dark Blue & Pink
