Title: 1968 Steering Wheel Pad - Red
Post by: Branded68 on March 10, 2020, 01:45:43 AM
In the process of restoring a 1968 Branded Mustang and seem to be striking out on a replacement 2-spoke steering wheel pad (Maroon/Dark Red).  Any recommendations?

It is tough to find ones that are not sun baked and shrunk. If you can find one that is good of a different color you can dye it to maroon.

Welcome to the sight. I would love to see pictures of a 68 Branded Mustang. There is a section for member builds.

Same pad was used on lots of 1968 Ford / Mercury cars. The insert is specific to Mustang.

Thanks for the warm welcome.  I'll keep my eyes peeled and see if I can track down something salvageable.

I'll definitely post some pictures of the build as it starts to come together.  Another member (toejamm) has been extremely helpful in sorting out the nuances of this somewhat unique project.

I am in the same boat... I don’t understand why you can find a dark red 68 mustang steering wheel but you can’t find the horn pad components in red? I’m looking for the exact same thing.
