Title: buck tag
Post by: cob428 on December 22, 2010, 05:45:17 AM
I've got a '69 Mach 1 that was built at the Metuchen plant 11/68 found the original buck tag buried in the deep crevices of the trunk. Where is it suppose to be mounted, what type of of hardware (bolt, screw)? Is it painted or natural (mine is nothing but crusty rusty)?

In 69 at NJ they were typically attached before the engine compartment was painted with a single Phillips head screw (flat one with the intergrated washer design) to the passenger side inner fender panel at approx the mid to forward edge of the hood hinge so that it can be read from the passenger side of the car

Hope this helps

If your car has the original inner fender panel should be a small hole at the location for tag and screw.
