Did the 69 Mach 1 have the center axle bumper that bolts to the body? The mount is welded to the body but I see no evidence that a bumper was ever bolted to it. I also do not see anything for the pinion snubber bumper to hit on the body.
Thanks in advance.

I don't have the answer (sorry) but the drive train info might matter. Not sure if staggered rear shocks influence this. If you give this information, the people that know will hopefully not have to ask these questions :)

Considering that you mentioned that the car was a Mach I that limits the number of possible engine and rear end combinations verses the non-Mach I. But will still ask what engine did your car come with?
The direct answer for a 69 with an H engine code or greater performance or cubic inches no there would not be a rubber snubber/bumper attached to the floor brace. Instead it would be attached to the snubber bracket attached to the third member of the rearend
As a side note you may find it helpful and a time saver to include in your signature (found in the settings section) when and where the car was built. Some just post their VIN while others a shortened VIN and the real build date. Just a suggestion

Sorry! It is a Metuchen March 3, 1969 build 428SCJ 4 speed. I am in the process of replacing a non-correct 3rd member with a date code correct 3.91 traction lock. I am missing one of the frame mounted bumpers but NPD has a center bumper as well.

Thanks
I did add the following above in my earlier response
The direct answer for a 69 with an H engine code or greater performance or cubic inches no there would not be a rubber snubber/bumper attached to the floor brace. Instead it would be attached to the snubber bracket attached to the third member of the rearend. The snubber has a threaded mounting stud and is retained by a nut accessible from the yoke side of the bracket
Here are a couple of pictures. Blue arrow - the snubber bracket and the green arrow the rubber snubber

Thanks. This forum is extremely helpful, even though this car will never be concourse, I am putting things back as they should be.

Some info here in Marcus's article.

I would be inclined to add that the difference is an 8 inch or 9 inch rear end. 8)
