Title: AMK Brake Caliper Hardware Kit for 68-73 - F3698
Post by: Aussie_Boss302 on May 14, 2020, 03:46:49 PM
Has anyone used the AMK Caliper Kit and does the caliper brackets have the galvanized plating similar to the factory pieces?

Roy, I have just bought one. It is at the shop, but I will take a picture tomorrow. It looked very original if memory serves, but lets confirm with a picture.

Roy,
The finish is not spangled galvanized like the originals. They are just zinc plated like about all things today.

You may want to consider the faux finish galvanizing process Jeff S. came up with posted in the library section. Using the bright zinc as a base to start from should help make for a proper convincing look. On a small part like the covers the finish can be made to look almost indistinguishable from the genuine finish.
