Was the wiring routing for the windshield washer any different for the early (64 1/2) convertible Dearborn cars?
Putting the car back together and the location for windshield washer wiring routing is shown in the Osborne Electrical Assembly manual. On my car this hole was never drilled. There is a dimple in the firewall but no hole. If it is the same as the later 65 cars as shown in the Osborne manual I am wondering if the washers were added as a dealer installed item or at a later date. Any ideas?
1964 1/2 Convertible Dearborn car, scheduled build date of July 7, with D code engine, power top, no a/c.
Thanks,
Mike

Since there's no hole, that would mean the car didn't originally have a windshield washer system, which was an option for '65, but part of the visibility group, which included 2sp wipers and washer system.
I'm guessing your car has single speed wiper setup.

Noticed one other item in the pic, the grommet for the accelerator pedal crank is installed backwards.

Thanks!
What all was include in the visibility group for the early cars (64 1/2)? I know it has been posted several times for the later 65 cars that it included remote control mirror, day/nite mirror, 2 speed wipers and washers. I was thinking the additional Pace cars that were built on May 1st had the visibility group but didn't have a remote mirror, just a regular mirror and no day/nite mirror.

The visibility group on the order sheet came later, I couldn't say when. There is a 2sp wiper/washers option on one of the 65 order sheets.
The 29D pace car I restored did not have a washer setup or outside mirrors.
