Title: Space Saver Tire and Wheel Date Code Help
Post by: JeffWS on May 25, 2020, 08:43:08 AM
I am trying to determine the date code of a space saver spare tire and wheel.

The tire doesn't have DOT, but has V1. (pre 1971?)

The code is B9MAK1CU. (February 1969?)

The valve stem screws on to the lower portion, and it appears to have a standard hole in the wheel. I have read that there was a recall and the safety valve stem installed.

The wheel has the FoMoCo oval logo w/ a "M" (no numbers), 1 on the rear of the wheel, and a 24 - B - 2 on the front.

Sorry I am not up to speed on the answer to your question.

You have a 1968 in your signature, so I can add only “24” 1968 Mustangs had factory space savers.
