Title: 1967 FE exhaust manifold heat riser valve
Post by: jswoody on July 02, 2020, 06:35:13 PM
Does anyone happen to know of source for a replacement spring for the exhaust manifold heat riser valve for a 428 motor?  Any help is appreciated.

I have a frozen valve for a 1966-67 Ford Thunderbird / Galaxie. Let me check this weekend. I imagine that the springs are the same. I think two springs, bi-metal and coil spring for return tension?

You think correctly. Flat heat sensitive bi metal spring and small conventional coil spring for return tension. The Galaxie one should be the same IMO.

I am looking for the coil spring.  Thank you very much for looking.

Actually there were 3 springs. One acts as a cushion for the wheel.

Woody, PM me.
