Hi everyone,
I am looking for a carb for my 1968 390 GT - 4-speed.
My preference would be a C8OF-9510-C
But I understood (I hope I am not wrong) that C7OF-9510-A (or C) should work too.

I’m pretty sure I have one.
If not and you find one to buy make 100% sure it has the correct front metering block.
The calibration on the 67-68 GT carbs is very specific to the main body, the carb will run horribly or not at all with the wrong block.

Hi,
Sorry I only saw your answer now.
In fact I found a C7OF-9510-A, so the Metering are 5119/4841.
The C7OF-9510-A is for a 67 390 Mustang 4V 600cfm - 4 Speed
And I see that the difference with the C8OF-9510-C (for a 68 390 Mustang 4V 600cfm - 4 Speed) is that the metering is different : 5482/4841
Is it an issue ?

Is it an issue ?
Not sure what you mean by issue. It appears that it will not be correct/original to your car so for some, that should be an issue but if you want something to run, as long as your don't have a combination of parts from a half dozen different carbs of different applications the complete unit should work as designed it would seem. Likely other parts are different between the two carbs in addition to the metering blocks that all were designed to work together

My point was that the 67-68 GT390 carbs are very unique.
The baseplate, main body, blocks all need to be correct or they will never run well.
