Title: Orange Space Saver in 1967?
Post by: johncatania on July 30, 2020, 02:17:57 PM
I'm the third owner of a 1967 Mustang Fastback survivor car. In a container of parts that came with this car was a BF Goodrich collapsible space saver tire. In my research, I found it to be for a 1970 AMC AMX but before I replace it I wanted to be sure. FOMOCO is nowhere to be found on the rim, but stamped in the metal is a K2 over a 2 and a 2 on the left side of the valve stem. On the right side of the stem is a 20 and a 50. Then there is a K2 over a 1, LS, N, and a 12 stamped into the metal. The tread has no wear. Any info would be appreciated.

Curious to know what size is on the sidewall of the spare?Dose it have a single valve stem or one that looks like a double ?

Seen a fair number of these over the years but never paid much attention to them since they were not for car's I was building or interested in.

Have you also tried other forums that focus on other makes and models?

If you are stating the rim is orange, it is an AMC part. They used the same BF Goodrich tire as the Ford.

My research shows it as an AMC part. It has a K9CU and D7014 silk screened onto the tread.

Apparently you didn't read reply #3 posted 3 years ago that concluded the same thing. At least now after 3 years you have some closure.
