My Winter Blue, Jan build 69 Dearborn Mach 1 has teak color interior panels. What was the deciding factor on whether a car received walnut or teak? I have read a few forums but I still confused.
I assume that if the car is teak, all items are the same color (console, door, dash, clock panel)?
Thanks

Does your trim code have an "A" or "AA"?

AA

AA is Teak
everything.

I believe A is light teak and AA is dark teak (or sometimes called walnut), and I agree it should all match.

My understanding all the early cars were light teak and sometime in JAN. 69 they started using the walnut or darker color and dropped the teak all together. Both my mach 1 cars have the light teak as they are early built cars.

I believe that my teak panels are original, but I can't be certain. Thank for the information.

I think you have it right. It is an early/late thing, and Jan. 69 is in the ballpark for the change IMO.
