Title: 69 428 SCJ Question
Post by: YELLOWBOSS2 on January 21, 2011, 07:42:56 PM
We are planning to restore a late 69 428 SCJ car. The question is about the area below the side scoop. The left rear quarter needs replaced. The original panel has been taken off the car long time ago and is gone. On the repo left rear quarter there is a actual crease that comes off the bottom of the side scoop and runs towards the wheel well at about a 10-15 degree angle. Should this crease be there. This crease is not part of the body line that runs all the way down the car.  The right rear quarter has been replace years ago and the crease is not there.

Thanks for the help.

If the very slight crease begins at the lower front edge of the vent, then, yes.  On my car 69 SCJ the slight bulge begins at the door jamb edge, at the lower vent area, and travels to the wheel well edge detail.  The 428 CJ registry has a photo section you might find helpful.  Brian
