Post by: don.piotrek on October 16, 2020, 12:05:55 PM
Perhaps impossible to find, but I'll give it a try.

Looking for the original Mustang Owner's Manual of my car. The last digits of the VIN are *118394.
Build December 1st, 1967 at Dearborn. Sold via the dealer 58T786 to Selby SD 57472 on Dec 11th, 1967.

Thanks.

Indeed there are and I am monitoring the auctions for my desired number. However thought someone here might come across the one I’m searching for.

Do I understand your wanted request to be wanting the manual with your 118394 vin that actually came in your car ? If so your expectations are really high and would love to see posted pictures of your car . Given such high expectations your car must be spectacular original too.

Hey Bob, yes you understood this correctly. I am searching for my car’s original owner’s manual. Looking through the dozens of manuals on ebay, I assume it might pop up one day. Do you think there is market for very unique cars’ manuals only? And the very common c-code coupe will not have its manual popping up on a flea market or ebay?
My car is not spectacular at all, but the original manual instead of a cheap reprint would be a nice addition to the fully renovated car.

That would be 1 in over 300,000 odds.  Plus not all owner’s manuals were filled out - if your car is one of those the odds go from low to impossible.   Best of luck though, does not hurt to ask and look.

It is had to find a original owners manual that has been separated from the car it came in when new for the vast majority of 50 plus year old cars regardless of if a 427 Cobra or a 68 C code Mustang . The answer to your question of is there a market for very unique cars’ manuals only, can be answered by just looking at ebay . The vast majority of owners manuals on auction are of the most common variety. You will have extremely good odds to find a nice original 68 Mustang manual on ebay more so then at a flea market . Finding the original to your specific car when it was new manual may require you to just keep wishing on that star. People buy power ball lottery ticket with dare I say unrealistic high expectations too. Some win more don't have their expectations met.

I am fully aware that the possibility to find it is similar to winning millions in the powerball. But as I don’t play powerball, I use my luck finding the manual  ;)
This is not a matter of live or die. If I don’t get it, I’m fine. If I do, I would be more than happy.

Few months back I have already seen on ebay a manual of a 68 c-code which vin was just few hundreds higher than mine. So decided to keep monitoring the web for mine.
