Can anyone advise when Ford used a single crimp (pic 71) as to compared to a double crimp (pic 17) on the main PS hose coming off the back of the PS pump.

I am not sure what the application of the single crimp hose in question is for but it looks similar (but not the same) and reminds me of one used on 67/68 GT350 . I posted a link to a company that makes faithful reproductions and you can scroll down and see a picture of the single crimp GT350 hose. https://bluedotspecialties.com/Products/Product_PS9ZX0C12-6768-GT350-500_3518.aspx . I noticed that they have a wrong description since the hose is only for 67/68 GT350 and NOT for GT500 KR. I am sending them a note.

Thanks Bob, I thought that Ford used the single crimp on earlier year mustangs and the double crimp was used on the 1970 PS hoses. The single crimp hose has an engineering number on it but I have it in for plating right now. I bought both these hoses and my other NOS hoses many years ago, the double crimp is going on my car as I believe it has the correct engineering number. I will advise the single crimp number when its back from plating.

The one in the picture is the pressure hose however there were various examples prior to 1970 that Ford used the single crimp on other PS hoes . The shortie hoses to the ram (65-69)and return line hose 67 and early 68 for example .

Yes, this is the picture of the double crimp pressure hose which is going on my car, I have replated it and installed the shield coil. I was just curious as to when the single crimp was used on the pressure hose as I may sell it.

The double crimp was a federal mandate sometime in the 70's (I don't know the exact date) for hoses on all new cars and replacement hoses.
