Title: Brake Light Switch Retaining Clip
Post by: 1970 Snake on December 15, 2020, 02:49:17 PM
Can someone please advise what color code the retaining clip is for the brake pedal mounted brake light switch on a 1970 mustang automatic tranny power disc brake car.
I have both red and greenish-yellow colored retaining clips??

I think they are meant to be red.

I can't answer the specific question but did some looking and found reference to "pin - self locking" type 2, part number 380699-S2 or 380699-S100 (different finishes) as well as a NN-128-F number.  Some pictures attached.

Did you check Jim's fastener spreadsheet?

I do not have Jim's fastener spread sheet, but my car is a very early 70 build (Sept 04/69) so it looks like "red" is probably the correct color, based on the data provided, thanks guys, much appreciated.

Okay after all that, I finally found the storage zip lock bag I put my interior brake parts in 14 years ago, during disassembly.
I can confirm the clip is "RED", and that the plastic spacer rings white not black like the repops and the switch plastic sleeve is black, and the booster nuts have red dye/paint on them.
Thanks all.
