Title: 66 Glove Box Door Emblem
Post by: hertz350 on January 01, 2021, 11:39:59 AM
Looking for a new, nos, never installed running horse emblem for the 66 style glove box door. Not interested in reproduction ones or original used ones.

Don't think this was a serviced part and I don't see it identified in the MPC as a separate part with a part number assigned but only as part of the door assembly. Never heard or seen one in a package but good luck with your search

I recently sold two NOS '65 to '66 glove box door emblems (flat version). I listed those in the SAAC forum before the holidays.

Sometimes, a person gets lucky:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1965-66-FORD-MUSTANG-C5ZB-65060A14-A-FLAT-GLOVE-BOX-DOOR-EMBLEM-FREE-USA-SHIP/363239378594?hash=item5492c10ea2:g:uQEAAOSwNM1f6-lP

The fasteners on the back are not needed or correct. The factory simply used a punch and spread out the ends from the back side after you push them through. If you search for:C5ZB65060, you'll see some used originals and get the idea.

I looked at the ebay link, downloaded the picture and blew it up. There is a C9 part number on the back, and a rectangle that I can't read well except to say it has "letters" in it that "sort of", "may be" FOMOCO. If it's supposed to be FOMOCO in a rectangle, the part number should be be a C4 or C5. A C9 would be FOMOCO in an oval.
As it stands now, I would say it's aftermarket.

Thanks Jim. That's some good work. I don't have the ability to blow pictures up without the pixilation ruining the detail.
Have an older computer with (I suspect) an inferior graphics card.
