Hi all; I remember seeing a rubber protector cover over the left side wheel well pinch weld. Does anyone know where to purchase a good repop? Thanks Alan

Try NPD.

Thanks, For you that are familiar with this part, how close is it to original? My Mach1 was built October 7, 1969 at the Metuchen plant. Would this part be assembled on my car? Alan

Browns restoration in Missouri makes great repops.

Call them, they are nice to deal with.

Glad you added when and where your car was built. Likely many details it makes a difference. Might consider adding when and where your car was built to your signature so you don't have to type it each time you ask a question.
Yes your car would have received on as long as it was not built for delivery in Calif. Most common for that plant in 70 would be the gray version rather than the black based on other cars.. Its placed over the inner to outer drivers side wheel house halves. Picture is from another thread on the subject

Thanks everyone for the responses. Jeff, I added my car info to my profile as you suggested. My car was delivered to a Duncannon PA dealer, so the gray color is likely correct. Also what length should it be 8.5"? also I see a wire tie fixing the rear light harness to the pinch weld below the luggage protector. Is there anything specific about the wire tie? Any recommendations? Alan

The wire tie is similar in appearance to a generic wire tie except the one Ford used was made and had a trademark of Panduit.

Don't know that I have a 69-70 handy nor the measurements
As for the nylon tie. The one I have is just over 6" in length and used at all three plants 69-70. Held the fuel sender wire in place.
Though for a different plant there are some addition pictures in the thread below

Thanks Jeff, I appreciate your feedback. Dead Nuts has the gray luggage protectors and panduit wire ties. They have some pictures of both 69 and 70 unmolested cars and they say the protectors are typically 10-11 inches in length.

Coupe and vert was longer than fastback.
-
Has anyone measured the length of the fastback luggage protector?
-
see pic

Awesome 67GTA289, Thank you!
-
You'll know pretty quickly if its too long :) As you can see it pretty well covers the complete visible length
-
John your photo showing lenght is from coupe vert around 10 1/2'' fastback is around 8 1/2'' from what i remember.

Interesting. I recently grabbed this out of a 69 Mach 1 dual exhaust car near me in a junkyard. No VIN.

I measured the pinch weld flange, a 10" protector will not fit. Looks like ~ 8.5" doesn't cover the tie wrap hole and seems correct.
