Trying to find where this clip goes. Assy manual indicates there is a bendable clip attached to the underside of the cowl at the FA vent but this has a nut and bolt attached to it that came off that way so unsure that is where it goes. Any ideas? July 13, 1964 Dearborn production Coupe.
Thanks.

The 64 Electrical Assembly Manual shows the clip with part number 370805-S100 (it's a lot easier if you list the part number of the item that you find in the assembly manuals) as being attached with a screw, 42127-S8, to a metal body piece tucked in the upper left corner. Your nut and screw/bolt in the picture may be misleading. There is another clip shown (different part number, 377904-S) attached with a nut (34655-S7) to a stud to the right of the vent.
Note: Screw 42127-S8, is shown with a quantity of 2, but only one appears on the drawing.

Jim, that is the clip. There was reference to at least two clips so I was not sure which one it was and that is why I reached out for help and the fastener did not make sense either. Just looked under there and that is also the screw mounting location for the cardboard wiper transmission cover so it is a dual purpose hex screw. Thanks for your help. Sometimes the simplest things cause problems.

There is one like this attached to the bottom edge of the dash on the left side. The fasteners look correct for that one. We have discussed before here, but I couldn't find the topic.

Charles, well I was fairly confident about that nut and bolt fastener, but for now I?ll leave it up top until some other evidence pops up. Thanks!

Thank you! That is it. As you can see by my original pic it is a hex bolt with a nut, like a tail light nut. My dash has been painted so there has been no trace markings. Thanks Chris, Charles & Jeff for the diligence! One more detail checked off.
