Title: Firewall sealant/deadener not on accelerator linkage and grommet
Post by: CharlesTurner on April 05, 2021, 11:09:32 AM
Sharing a January '65 San Jose Unrestored example, which clearly shows no firewall sealant/deadener on the accelerator crank/linkage, nor on the grommet.  I see a lot of restored cars with sealant on these.

Looking for other examples of original/Unrestored cars that might show this detail... and also from the other assembly plants.

Charles

My late Sept. 1965 San Jose car is also that way.  It had very little sound deadener on the firewall but no evidence of it on the bracket or rubber seal.

CHARLES.

our friend Mr Gibsons NJ built 66 GT coupe definately had a no signs of sealant on the accelerator linkage and neither does my own NJ built 66 convertible.
