I'm not very good at interpreting the MPC and would appreciate some help
For a 1970 Mach 1 application wherein I'm installing new rear leaf springs, which of the following shackles is the most correct? NPD carries all of these yet between NPD's website, Detroit/Eaton's site and Scott Drake's site, I cannot figure out which shackle I should be using. Some shackles are listed as "HD" yet I don't see reference to "HD" or Mach suspension in the MPC
C6DZ-5630-A 1/2" dia studs
C4DZ-5630-A 9/16" dia studs, 1" longer
C4DZ-5630-B 9/16" dia studs
Thanks!

C4DZ-5630-B 9/16" dia studs
This is for 64 and 65 Mustangs only.
C4DZ-5630-A 9/16" dia studs, 1" longer
This is a longer shackle, but not used on assembly line Mustangs.
C6DZ-5630-A 1/2" dia studs
This is for 66 thru 69, replace by D1ZZ-5630-A for service replacements.
D1ZZ-5630-A 1/2" dia studs
This is for 70 and on, and is the replacement for 66 thru 69
I believe the side plates were "redesigned" for ease of manufacturing.
All this was extracted from the 75 edition of Ford Car Parts (aka MPC), Section 54 pages 39 and 40.
I suggest you use the MPC in this Forums library and review those pages.

70 is 1 year only coarce thread shoulder nuts.
Per the 70 Mustang Chassis Assembly Manual (AM0035 pg 36 and 36) only the 200 I6 cars got the coarse nuts, the 250 I6 and all V8 cars got fine thread.
