Just another special order exterior paint car (black paint code with the 6 digit DSO). Most likely part of a local or regional promotion given the projected build date. Sure a Marti report will confirm the special paint status but unfortunately can't provide the original color from the Ford records

Thanks guys.  8)
Is there a way to determine about what promotion this car may be a part of?

Not for sure - without some documentation from the dealer. One possibility - though some work and in turn will only offer a possibility - would be to search the local (to where the car was sold) newspapers for ads (in the spring) of local dealerships as most times promotions include a decent advertising effort.

Thanks for the suggestion, Jeff!
Some libraries have newspapers on microfiche rolls. Might be a good place to start!
