Title: Finish on toploader rods

Did the toploader rods and the reverse lockout rod have any finish/ treatment to them?

Believe you will find that 70's were zinc dichromate (gold hue)

The lock out rod from the steering column would have been cad a dull silver finish

On a side note , What would be the correct finish for the shifter tabs connected to the transmission from the rods ?

Thanks Marcus , Phosphate and oil appears to be the correct finish
