70 Boss 302 Dearborn car born Oct.1
Question 1: Does anyone have the proper PPG formula for a K code Bright Gold Metallic? Base coat, clear coat. My local dealer is struggling to get the color right.
Question 2: When spraying the blackout in the trunk area, is the entire inside of the tail light panel painted black or just around the support bracket? (I've hunted for pics).
Question 3: Is the bottom of the trunk body color or blackout?
Question 4: Harmonic balancer: Blue or black?
Thank you to all who answer in advance.

That is a tough one and guess you don't have any original paint on the car that can be used to match. Pain formulas have been a challenge for years due to changes in all the product lines bases and toners. Lets hope that someone has already gone through this and can help out

The search feature should often be tried as it sometimes finds things your looking for. Allot of info and pictures have been posted over a decade ago since we first start the site. Does the following provide you enough to answer your questions

Question 3: Is the bottom of the trunk body color or blackout?
Dearborn cars were typically painted black along with the top side and taillight panel before the rear wing was installed if so equipped
Question 4: Harmonic balancer: Blue or black?
Black and installed after the engine was painted blue

Thank you for the quick response Jeff. Those trunk pics were just what I was looking for (the ones I just couldn't find). The two Boss's I've owned had been repainted so I wasn't sure on the inner trunk. Also, thanks on the clarification on the balancer, I have some bead blasting to do.
