Title: in 1967, were there two different types of fuel sender/gas tank gasket set ups?

I took my original fuel sender out of my original gas tank to replace it per recommendations from here. The original sending unit that I took out had a maybe 2" flat gasket recessed into the tank with the flat fuel sending unit base holding it in place with the lock ring going metal to metal on the fuel sending base to lock it in. I seem to remember on the 1967 GTA that I had with a reproduction tank and reproduction fuel sender that the gasket was wider. Maybe 3" and more of an o ring type sitting on edge. I remember twisting the lock ring directly onto the gasket. Were there two types in 1967 or is my memory just failing me? I have to order a new tank. Thanks.

Originally one gasket (square edge if I recall correctly) between the sender and the tank. Guess owners or shops could add another one between the sender and ring to increase the pressure on the one that is doing the sealing but never seen that before
