Title: 69 Deluxe interior Clock issues

1969 Deluxe interior clock problems, my clock is working but the adjustment gear keeps pulling off of the shaft and it also spins on the shaft. The gear seems to have a split in it and so does the spare I have as well, I don?t know if it?s supposed to  e that way in it or if the gear is supposed to be solid and that?s what?s causing the issue.
Any suggestions?

Two photos from an original working clock, I have. It appears the gear should not be split.
