Title: Gas Filler Rubber Tube
Post by: kkupec02 on December 18, 2021, 09:11:49 AM
When you install the rubber tube to connect the gas tank neck to the metal gas filler tube, does the red stripe have to be in any particular spot like 5 o"clock, 12 o'clock?

I have seen no stripe, white stripe ,red stripe . Red stripe being the least. I believe the stripe did not have a alignment purpose in this case so it didn't matter .From a workmanship or appearance standpoint you may want a 6 or 12 index. Just my opinion.

The assembly line worker would most likely take advantage of any curvature of the hose as a guide to installation. If any colored line was present and it followed the curvature, it may have been coincidental.
