Title: Correct PS Pump & Fittings
Post by: duffman on January 30, 2022, 04:53:24 PM
I just pulled the PS pump from my 390 GT.
The plate on the back  reads "HBA  BF
IF"    and several numbers that are indiscernible.
Behind the plate is unpainted.
I believe it is correct as per this and other sites.
It is a dark blue, with no signs of repaint, as the tag has bare metal behind it.
What is the correct hose for the lower fitting?

Chris

The lower fitting is for the unpressurized return hose. On a big block (you have the correct reservoir for a 390) the lower connection would have a piece of plain rubber 3/8" ID hose that would clamp to the nipple using a factory band clamp. It would go next to the oil filter and terminate at the manufactured hose clamped in the bracket below the lower A - arm. At that juncture it is secured by another identical Ford factory band clamp.

The hose is smooth and has no markings.

Thank you!  Thats one thing I dont have to replace!
Any good source for the hose and correct clamps?  Pulled a Worm gear clamp off.
