I'm in need of front shocks. Just noticed mine are white. Need either Autolite or Motorcraft shocks for my 68 Sprint B.

The regular Mustang shocks are pretty generic in shape so maybe post what is on there now to see if they are usable for your needs. Engine compartment top side and through the coils for the fronts. The rears should be easy accessible to take a picture of. Determine if fine or course thread for studs on the front and rear. You may only need to paint them black . If gas shocks you may have to replace the fronts because most of those I have seen the head and cross bar of the shock look different then stock.

Those are some good looking shocks that guy has listed. One of the nicest sets Ive ever seen in my unbiased opinion. ;)

I did look at those shocks - they do look nice and the date code would be great I'm assuming for my April build date car. But at $1200?
Here are some pictures of what's on my car now. The top part in the perch does not look correct.

Its simple supply and demand. Most originals got thrown out years ago. So, the number of originals is small.

I discovered a pair of Gabriel shocks on ebay. Can anyone tell me if this pair would be concours driven correct in my case?

I would get those .Your class does not deduct for not having Ford trademark ,date codes or correct engineering numbers. You may want to do some body work to cover the Gabriel numbers and markings up with some body to be on the safe side before installing but generally they should be good for your class as is. what about the rears?

Once you get them, if you go that route, check to see if there is a large "57" stamp on the top end of the shock, facing the engine compartment. IF so make sure that disappears since that will be right in the face of anyone looking ;)

Thank you Bob and Jeff. I did go ahead and get those ordered. I'll have to post pictures on my build once I get them installed.
As for the rear shocks, I did pick up a pair of Autolite shocks with date codes close to my build date for $375. Here is a picture. I also posted some pictures of them installed on the car.
