Title: AC Idler mounting
Post by: Anghelrestorations on July 09, 2022, 12:33:56 AM
Test fitting and installing an AC idler on a 1965 289.  Assembly manuals are not clear on how the hardware and spacers are used here....posting some photos to see if someone can confirm thats what they have seen?

Thanks Chris!
I see now I forgot to take into account 2888 which is the air conditioning compressor lateral brace.  That piece fits behind the top bolt of the AC idler mounting bolt and no washer or spacers needed otherwise.
The lower AC idler mounting bolt has a spacer behind it that would be a natural color and not painted.

I need to make those changes.

Check Bob Manell's book too. I think that there may be something specific with the water pump too?
