Title: 1967 AC Hose Support Straps ~How many were used?
Post by: 67gtasanjose on July 26, 2022, 06:22:04 AM
TWO QUESTIONS...

1st Question:
Assembly Manual shows one rubber strap on each side,  so I suppose that is the answer (and what I currently have on it).

2nd Question (2-part answer)
a.)The metal strap clamp (rubber dipped variety that holds the two hoses together along their path), is there ONE of those or TWO of them, if ANY (on a 67)?
b.) Assuming there is at least ONE of these, where should it (they) be located?
(NOTE: I don't see ANY in the Assembly Manuals).

I would say one is correct, but I have seen two. I do not know if Ford had trouble with them breaking and just added a second one?

The metal clamp is usually 8-10 inches behind the compressor.  I have seen a second one at the firewall but rarely. I make those clamps; did I send one to you?

Thanks Marty.
Yes, I have the (2) straps you sent me. Engineering number on label was a C8, so I wondered about using it is all. Presently the way you described is how I have them

Since my car has a working AC, are there any pics available to be posted?
Great thanks.
