I believe the pass side inner fenders were replaced. The power top line is just draped, with no attach points.
1. Where are the correct mounting points? Cannot find in Library for reference
2. Current has a fusible link, is this correct?
3. Where can I get a correct replacement?
Thanks, in advance, as usual!

The 1965 fusible link is basically the same part.
It sounds like you could use the 1968 engineering assembly manual

'65 uses a breaker at the solenoid

The attachment points, looking at very few 68 San Jose examples, appears to be only a small thin sheet metal clip attached to the passenger side shock tower support, then nothing else before it gets to the junction block at the solenoid. Looking at NJ and Dearborn examples they show also a single clip. Where along the edge of the shock tower support varies after 50 years though each may still be at their original positions

And another look at the routing from that same car above (8R1533xxx)

2. Current has a fusible link, is this correct?
Had to find an example in my 68 Dearborn pictures to find one somewhat clear of wires and other cables but in this case you can clearly see the works Fusable Link printed on the wire between the block and the solenoid

Don't know - Haven't had to search for one of those in the past

Here is a picture of an NOS junction block (fusible link) that was used for all 67-68 convertible power tops. I do not know of any accurate reproductions, although I have come across a few really good bases that I just needed to recreated the gray cardboard part to have an acceptable restored one.
Regards,

NPD sells a nice reproduction or it can be used as a donor to complete a original good enough to pass in trailered concours.

First, thank you all. I had ordered Osborns wiring diagram, and posted this before posting.
It has come in.
Having it in hand , it looks like PO used a 65 wire.
Jeff, the pictures are very helpful.
have an order placed with NPD, just minutes ago.
Only burning question is where the junction block is mounted.
Thanks again!
Chris

Only burning question is where the junction block is mounted.
IF not converting to power top the original mounting holes should still be present below the solenoid in the inner fender panel/apron
-
Jeff,
The inner fender was replaced. No sign of mounting holes.

Here is a location on a Metuchen 68 convertible.

I hesitate a little since this is from a 67 with power top but built at NJ, though it appears that the location is the same but the wire running from the junction block takes a different route. Taken today of a 30K original car that a friend just picked up as his wife's new driver. Very nice unrestored car especially for a NJ car that escaped the east in the early 80's. Will be posting picture of it in the unrestored section of the site
Like the other picture I posted you can see the writing on the fusable link wire to the solenoid

Jeff,
Many thanks! I appreciate the effort and transparency.

Is that picture and the others too close up to help you locate the spot it was mounted at?
-
A further pic would be appreciated

Much of what you are looking for is documented in the "1968 Mustang Electrical Assembly Manual" (AM0023 pg 43 and 45) including the mounting instruction for the fuse assy, which unfortunately says to use the two "existing" dimples to mount the fuse.
I strongly recommend you get a set for your car's year.

Again source is a 67 NJ power top car. Hope this helps you locate yours correctly
