I am not as well versed on 70s like I am 69s so this air vacuum canister has me confused. See the pic below. I'm used to seeing this on air cars. Since the car is a 70 R-code 4 speed car without air what would they have used that for? Now I have seen additional vacuum tree by the firewall on 70s(I have one stored from a parted out car 35 years ago) so is this correct for the car? Car appears original in the pics when it was being taken down for resto. Car is currently on BaT.
update: I see from resto pics the car's firewall was cut for air and it had a lower air dash but still want to know if the cannister was used for anything else but air.

That's the vacuum reservoir for the air conditioning system. It wasn't used for anything else.

Thanks Scott, that is what I thought but wanted to ask for sure. The car had air added to it at one time.

There would only be three dimples on a non A/C car.
