Title: Carb ID Tag
Post by: Skyway65 on April 03, 2011, 08:43:15 AM
I need to get an ID tag made for my '65 200 6 cyl. I wanted to verify that the carb was installed on the engine as the engine was assembled so that the date code on the carb. ID tag would be a few weeks before the assembly date of the engine. Does that sound correct?  Thanks--Gary

I would not go - nor have I ever seen any tags go futher than three weeks ahead..

You can find the correct codes in Kevin Marti's new book that came out last years.  All of the carbs and date codes are in there.. I double checked mine with it.

Hope this helps Gary.

Jeff--Dearborn car--the engine was assembled in Dec of '64 and the exhaust/intake manifolds are Nov of '64.  So was the carb installed as the engine was being assembled?  It too should be Nov of '64 too.  Right?

Thanks for the Marti info Tony--I don't have the book-just need the info! ;D

From pictures it appears that engines were shipped with carbs attached so IMHO yes

No problem we all confirm details all the time. Rather double check than redo ;)
