Title: 67 GT350 original asssy line air filter pic
Post by: Bossbill on November 26, 2022, 07:12:37 PM
The few original pics I've seen shared here that include a pic of the air cleaner are too far away to zoom in on the element itself.
I've heard various descriptions like round hole and so on, but that doesn't help with the size of mesh and other considerations.

Anything close up of a GT350 element? Color or black and white is of no concern.

The black and white vintage high res picture of 0050 show clearly the round hole mesh style. The round hole style mesh is consistent throughout 67 GT350 production. In person observation of the same style early 67 filter I can add details like manila tinted filter paper and orange ish maroon rubber top and bottom side.

There are a lot of F41s.
1st pic is a repro f41.
2nd pic is of a very expensive ebay article that has the right round holes(?) and manila paper.
3rd pic is of another F41 version with the wrong holes
4th pic is from NPD with the right part number but little else seems right.

I gather the expensive version is the most correct?

I wonder if it is possible to successfully tint the repro F41 element to the manila color?  Water and food coloring?

The first one's holes are too far apart resulting in too much metal showing.

Am I to gather that even though the second one has a correct hole spacing and paper color that the rubber color is too orange and should have more maroon in it?

Sure it is just have to buy a few and experiment

Was thinking of building something where I could Evapo-rust dip, soak or roll through to address a little rust on an original . Just haven't tried that project yet
