Anyone have F70-14 on the 5.5" Styled Steel Wheel? Just curious if there are any reported issues since that tire is recommended for 6" minimum width.
Thanks

Could the question not include other rims that year - steel wheels? Don't recall their width but doubt they were wider than the style steel wheels.

I don't recall reading any documents, recalls, campaigns or such on the F70's installed on 67 Mustangs other than the known clearance problem initially with the front fenders and Ford fix for that. If I've missed or forgotten one sure someone will remind us :)

For 1967, if the Wide Oval, F70-14 tires were ordered, they came "standard" with 6" Steel Wheels. If the Styled Steel Wheels were also ordered as an Option, the F70-14 tires were then mounted on the 5-1/2" Styled Steel Wheel.

Bob, do you know why the styled steel wheels cost more for for a coupe and convertible than for the fastback model ?
-
Yes, I believe that I do. In 1967, the Fastbacks came "Standard" with Full Wheel Covers, while the Coupes and Convertibles came "Standard with the small, "dog dish" type Hub Caps. If Styled Steel Wheels were ordered with the Fastback, Ford was basically giving the purchaser "credit" for the difference inn price between the Hub Caps, and the Full Wheel Covers.
Hope this answers your question.
