Title: 70 Running Change Thread - Metuchen Window Retainer Plate
Post by: Bossbill on December 08, 2022, 01:14:07 PM
Per this thread:
https://www.concoursmustang.com/forum/index.php?topic=13142.0
I decided to post this in case there are any differences with 69 and Dearborn.

My 0T02G car has not had the sills or door areas re-painted (it was a quick shoot to the outside).
It features just black with zinc bolts.

Some of this was discussed earlier in a thread where the following pictures were posted. Looked but for now could not find the earlier thread to either post or merge. Have found on other 69-70's where they can be found painted just installed backwards  ::)

Didn't go into specific pictures with VINs but if that would help it can be provided since they can be found both ways. May match up with production periods or may be the results of a single shift, one painter and inspectors that didn't care or catch it. Won't know or be able to make some conclusions without a deeper dive

It didn't seem right to post a Metuchin car in a 69 Dearborn post so I started a 70 find here.
That way others can post their findings.
My car is in the sig below, but I'll put it here for searches...
6/6/70 Date Tag, 0T02G160xxx Boss 302

Your correct too much confusion and mixing if we post different years and plants together as we have found in the past. :)

Did a quick survey of what I've got fairly clear pictures of from non-restored examples. Finishes of non-body color ones were difficult to tell if they were originally painted with a cheap black paint or bare since these often were rusty or some what rusty in my pictures of them.

Rather than posting pictures of each I will just provide my findings below. Can post each if someone feels that helps the discussion Sorry don't have real build dates for the vast majority of these

Interesting pattern to say the least. Because of this I'm changing this to a Running Change thread in the title unless someone is seeing something differently
Will insert others VINs and findings into the list
