My C8ZE S1 radiator has a date code of 5CD. Does that indicate March 1975
Thanks

Most likely IMO.

The stamping letters and numbers look to be pretty worn. Not sharp, or crisp, like an assembly line radiator.

Is it an automatic or manual transmission radiator ?

So a service replacement I take it ?
This is plausible. When i got the car 1981, the radiator support and front aprons had been replaced. Clues pointing to front end collision at some point prior to 1981?but i never knew exactly when. That leads me to belive the radiator was also replaced during collision repair. Also possible clue collision repair occurred between 1975-1981 (based on the 1975 code on rad. )

It?s automatic radiator.

It?s automatic radiator.
I figured as much . The service radiators sold starting in 1971 I think typically had the radiator cooler fitting's on the bottom and were meant to be used on manual as well as automatic to save on inventory costs of keeping individual application parts in stock.
