Title: 260 V-8 non AC fan spacer
Post by: macdude67 on May 05, 2011, 10:11:28 PM
Can anybody give me some direction to what spacer I should have on my mid June 64 mustang coupe. It is a 260 V-8 without AC. I have a few spacers but they seem to be different lengths. Can anybody tell me what length should I be looking for. The Bob Mannel list a 64 Mustang non AC with a length of 3.22, is this correct?

Well, this may help. My initial fan spacer on my 64 1/2 was the standard spacer w/o AC. If I recall correctly, it did not measure up the same as what Bob Mannel had in his book (although I don't doubt his accuracy). It was, I believe, 3.20 inches even. A picture of it is below. You can see the thicker base that the non-AC spacers have.

A correct spacer for an AC car is also shown (the one I have now) and you can see that it has the thin base (as described in Bob's book).
