Post by: Blown351stang on January 01, 2024, 07:31:44 AM
70 Mach1 14" sports wheel cover when did it change from the football shape valve stem hole to the oval valve stem hole if anyone know?

For anyone that has them on there car with original rims do the covers sit right against the rim lip or is there a gap so you can get them off again?

This is a photo of a cover on a 7" 12 slot rim not the factory mach1 rim.

Don't know that anyone has penned the change over down exactly. Likely related to the same change in the trim rings for 70 Boss cars with caps and trim rings.

See references/beliefs that the change took place Dec 69 through Jan 70

Here is a thread on the trim ring/hubcap discussion of the hole shape

You may have missed the discussion going on over in the 70 Boss 302 section on the full wheel covers
