When was the engine ID sticker location transition?

Think the last time we looked into the subject it likely matched the changing of the water pump from aluminum to cast iron. It was guessed that it might have been done since the stickers would stick better to the smooth oil surface and bracket than the somewhat rough surface of the cast iron water pump.

+1 to Jeff's response.  The only other potential reason might have been to make it more easily readable.
