Title: 67 fastback decklid
Post by: 67gta289 on May 26, 2024, 09:53:50 AM
Found this 67 fastback decklid stashed in the back of  a van, not down by the river, but in a junkyard.

I noticed that there was a J-nut installed on the hinge in a location that would appear to limit the opening of the lid.  See the second picture, highlighted in red.

No evidence of respray - nut has original color paint on it.

Hardly a common place to get a picture when installed on a vehicle.  There's probably only one person I'm aware of that would get a shot of this area. You know who you are lol.

Probably a Dearborn car due to the Michigan location, but that is of course no guarantee.

Nice find, I did not know fastback had unique weather strip.

Number of years have a different cross cut shape for fastback trunks when compared to coupe/convertible. Unfortunately the service parts are often not like originals and because of that reproductions were wrong also.

Earlier thread on the subject  ;)
