Title: 1967 manual steering ball nut
Post by: mtinkham on June 10, 2024, 01:59:24 PM
I am in need of the ball nut that engages with the sector shaft. The ball nut that I took out of my steering box has a broken tooth. My steering box tag is difficult to read - very lightly stamped. If I can get a meaningful number, I will add to this post. But I believe this box is the standard 19:1 ratio, 1-1/8" sector shaft variety for my signature car.

Thank you for the lead.

I reached out to Chockostang and Dan calls this item "the rack". Manual identifies it as a ball nut, though. Anyway, either between the spare steering box that I had in inventory or Chockostang, I should be all set with this item. Thanks.

To help with future searches, using the attached diagram, what is the Ford basic part number that you are referring to?

I never heard of it either -- until now. From the Repair Manual.
