Title: My heater box is a light grey!
Post by: MWM on May 30, 2011, 12:17:13 AM
I have an early 1965 Mustang Fastback from San Jose.  The previous owner(s) painted the heater box completely black.  I used Easy Off Oven Cleaner with Lye to remove the paint.  It did a good job and I can now see the fiberglass fibers, but it appears that the box is a light grey not a black color.  Is this correct?
thanks!

It should be a medium to dark gray color.  If the surface is flat in appearance, try using a satin clear coat, which will darken the surface.
