Title: Interior manual choke label
Post by: Shelby1966 on August 12, 2024, 08:57:51 PM
Would a 1970 Mustang Mach 1 428 CJ , 4 speed
that was made in Metcheum, NJ on 10 Sep 69 have the large sticker on the driver's side interior near the headlight switch denoting "Choke operation" procedure. Who reproduces this large sticker?

See attachment for the label.

Thank you

That sticker talks about the choke being located below the ignition switch, which would be strange for a 1970 Mustang because the 1970 ignition switch is on the steering column. I guess the choke cable knob, which is mounted on the bottom of the dash panel, could still be considered "below the ignition switch". Anyway, I see two versions of the sticker for sale on the National Parts Depot web site:

Jim Osborn reproduction (this looks like the one in your picture):

ECS reproduction (this one looks a bit different, with square corners and different background color):

The ecs decal was made off my original and was only used on boss 429s and 70 gt500s that went to KK plant to be changed over from auto choke to manual.

To recap previously posted info for clarifacation - No,  because it is not a Boss 429 or a 70 GT500
